Nearly 400 Hermosa Beach Little Leaguers gathered at Clark Field on Sunday, June 2, to participate in the 2024 season ending ceremonies. Traditionally, the ceremonies are an opportunity to recognize outstanding volunteers and players.

This year’s volunteer recipients of the Rory Wibberley Award were Brayd Blaco and Tim Gibson

Blaco was an unhittable pitcher during his years in Hermosa Beach Little League, and has served for many years as a volunteer coach. Blaco also waters and drags the fields after the Clark Stadium lights go out. His mother, Susan Blaco, received the Wibberley Award in 1990, and his father, Steve, received the award in 1992.

Tim Gibson also received the Wibberley Award for his five years as a coach, member of the Executive Board, and as head of facilities.

Branton Fasola was this year’s player recipient of the Wibberley Award. During his years in T-ball and the Majors, Fasola has consistently elevated the performance of his teammates through his own hard work and a positive attitude. Fasola also assists in Clark Field clean-ups and setups.

Dan Rista was named 2024 Coach of the Year.  Kieren Wachtfogel was voted 2024 MVP by his peers.
