Sidewalk Festival
The shopping season begins this Saturday in Hermosa Beach with the Holiday Sidewalk Festival in downtown Hermosa this Saturday.
The event is sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and Visitor’s Bureau, and runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Area merchants will put racks and tables outside with various discounts. On the streets, there will be a balloon artist, carolers, and music on two stages.
There will also be a children’s area in the parking lot behind Star’s Antiques, featuring a magic show and a scavenger hunt. Ceremonies in years past have featured machine-made snow on the streets, and snow may return again this year.
Turkey John
The third annual “Hey Turkey” art show will take place next Wednesday evening in South Hermosa.
The event is put on by M1SK, a local design and clothing company, and will feature South Bay celebrity “Turkey John.” The event is an opportunity to see art and music from local residents, including Marisa Jane of the Daisies Collective.
The event will be held at Furnished Hermosa at 333 PCH 7 to 11 p.m. See EasyReaderNews.com for a story on the show.
Christmas Stories
The Surf City Theater Company will present a few alternatives to Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” as it kicks off a holiday-tinged run of performances this Friday.
“Every Christmas Story Ever Told…& Then Some” tasks three actors with performing a wide variety of Christmas stories, carols and rituals at the Hermosa Community Theater. The play will run for the next three weeks. Performances will be held every Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $25. Seating is limited, and patrons are encouraged to buy tickets in advance.
