Hermosa Beach Brady sisters reach Manhattan Beach Tennis Open finals

Over 200 of the best amateur tennis players in Southern California participated in the 53rd Annual Manhattan Beach Open Tennis Tournament last week. The finals were held at the Manhattan Country Club Sunday afternoon. Early rounds were held at Live Oak Park and Mira Costa High School.

Mira Costa High School tennis player Quin Brady, of Hermosa Beach advanced to the finals in both the Women’s Open and the Women’s Open Doubles divisions. In the open singles, she fell to Tricia Mar of Seal Beach (6-4, 4-6, 6-2). In the open doubles, she and sister Kiana narrowly lost to Palos Verdes Estates’ Katelyn Hart and Kacey Feng (5-7, 6-4, 10-8).

In the Men’s Open Singles, Harsh Parikh, of Tucson, defeated Renaud Lefevre (6-2, 6-2).

In the Men’s Open Doubles finals, Clay Thompson and Blaine Houvenier, of Encino, defeated Karapet Vardayan, of Granada Hills, and Noah Morrow of Stevenson Ranch.

Both top ranked divisions were won by Manhattan Beach residents. Ky Haak defeated T.J. of Torrance (6-0, 6-2) for the 5.0 title, and Karina Kraines defeated fellow Manhattan Beach resident Samantha Kadera (6-2, 6-4) for the 4.5 title. ER
