With some estimates of a crowd size that topped 1,000 people, the 51st annual Hermosa Beach Iron Man competition entertained the old-fashioned way Thursday morning, as contestants ran a mile, paddled a mile and the chugged six-packs and partied big time, all before the event ended at 10 a.m.
