Hermosa Beach live Photowalk event

Living in the South Bay and enjoying beach life is great.

It’s even more fun with a camera in your hand, and double that when a group of like minded folks are by your sides, capturing the beauty of our area at the same time.

I started leading Photowalk events just for that, and have staged them in Manhattan Beach, Venice Beach, downtown Los Angeles, Flagstaff, Arizona and San Francisco. On Thursday, July 21, we’ll be meeting in Hermosa Beach, by the surf statue at 7 p.m.

All are welcome, whether you’re just starting out with your smartphone camera, bought a new camera and barely know how to use it, or are advanced. This is an outing with people who love taking photos.

But I do encourage everyone to bring their smartphone camera, since that’s the most popular camera these days, one most folks all have. I’ll show you some of my favorite smartphone tricks on how to dramatically improve your photo skills, before we head out to explore some of the best photo spots in Pier Plaza, and hopefully capture an awesome sunset together.

When not meeting with the folks in the South Bay, I host a travel photography series on YouTube, PhotowalksTV and co-host the iPhone Photo Show podcast.

Sunset is scheduled for just after 8 p.m.

Tickets are $20, and you can sign up at Eventbrite
