Strand robbery
A man was arrested last Thursday afternoon after allegedly robbing a person in downtown Hermosa.
The suspect approached the victim in the 1100 block of The Strand about 5:45 p.m., according to police reports. The suspect used force or fear to take the victim’s skateboard, as well as a backpack that belonged to the victim’s friend.
The suspect fled the scene, but was apprehended by the HBPD officers a short time later, police said. The suspect was arrested on suspicion of robbery and taken to the city jail. Officers later transported the suspect to a medical center for injuries sustained while in the jail. At the hospital, the suspect was placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold, and released to the custody of medical staff.
Indecent exposure
A man was arrested last Wednesday after allegedly exposing himself to pedestrians in downtown Hermosa.
About 8:15 a.m., the man exposed his genitals and made comments “inherently likely to provoke an immediate violent response,” police said. On arresting the man, police found open containers of alcohol, and determined the man to be intoxicated.
