Diving equipment stolen

An unknown suspect took diving equipment from an East Hermosa residence last month. The theft took place sometime between the afternoon of May 14 and the afternoon of May 18 from a home in the 1100 block of 10th Street near Prospect Avenue, according to police reports. Police believe the suspect or suspects opened the home’s unlocked basement door and fled with the diving equipment.

Thefts from gym lockers

A pair of thefts from gym lockers at 24-Hour Fitness last month resulted in a stolen phone, stolen wallet, and a stolen car. The thefts occurred sometime between 11:10 p.m. on May 19 and 1 a.m on May 20 from lockers at the gym’s location at the intersection of Pacific Coast Hwy. and 16th Street, according to police reports. Two lockers were opened. In one, a phone and car keys were taken. In another, the thief took a wallet and car keys, then used the car keys to steal the victim’s vehicle from the building’s parking structure. It was not immediately clear if the same person was behind both thefts.
