The Hermosa Beach City School District is looking for parents and community members to serve on its facilities committee that will examine how to address the district’s increasing enrollment.
The board of education recently agreed to analyze all classroom options after the latest enrollment numbers showed that 81 new students enrolled in the district over 12 months, bringing the total number of students at the district’s two schools to 1,398.
The committee will look at the possible use of North School for classroom space, as well as examine options to boost revenue through other facilities planning. The facilities committee’s specific focus is short and long term facilities planning and will make its recommendations to the board of education, a district press release said.
For additional information and the application form, visit the school district website here, or phone the district office at (310) 937-5877.
