Skechers EIR available
The public comment period on the draft Environmental Impact Report for a pair of projects proposed along Pacific Coast Highway from shoe manufacturer Skechers is now open.
The project consists of two three-story buildings in Hermosa Beach, running south from Longfellow for several blocks, as well as two two-story buildings in Manhattan Beach. Plans for each set of buildings call for an underground parking garage. The Hermosa offices will also have a ground-floor coffee shop open to the public.
Because more of the project’s square footage is in Hermosa, the City is overseeing the permitting process. Copies of the report are available at the Community Development Department at City Hall, and at Hermosa Beach’s library, police department headquarters, and Community Center.
Comments may be submitted by mail, email to skecherseir@hermosabch.org, or in person at City Hall to Community Development Director Ken Robertson. The Planning Commission will also host an informational meeting about the project on July 18 at 7 p.m. in City Council Chambers.
The deadline to submit comments on the project is August 15, 2017.
