Professional BMX rider Cory Bohan arrested on suspicion of public intoxication
Professional BMX rider Cory Bohan was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication after a disturbance in front of a Hermosa home early Friday morning, police said.
Hermosa Beach Police Officers responded to an unknown trouble call about 1:20 a.m. Officers arrived and separated Cory Bohan from some other people, Sgt. Robert Higgins said.
“They were engaging each other in a physical altercation,” Higgins said. “Cory Bohan was reportedly the aggressor. Cory Bohan was detained at the sidewalk in front of the residence.”
Nobody involved sought prosecution, but the owner of the home “did not want Cory Bohan at the location any longer,” Higgins said.
“Cory Bohan was exhibiting symptoms of alcohol intoxication at the scene. Based on those physical objective symptoms of intoxication and his agitated behavior, he was arrested for the safety of himself and others,” Higgins said.
Bohan was booked into the Hermosa jail without incident, and was released “after he gained sobriety the following morning,” Higgins said.
