More than 200 people attended the 6th Annual Hermosa Beach Historical Society and Museum Gala on Saturday, Aug. 27, at St. Cross Church. After a two-year hiatus, the gala sold out all 200 tickets. The band Jukebox played ‘50s, and ‘60s surf music and ‘70s and ‘80s dance music for guests dressed appropriately for the “Beach Through the Decades” theme. Committee chair Jake Courtney said the evening raised $60,000. A portion of the proceeds will cover the museum’s cost of accreditation from the American Alliance of Museums. Guests, including State Senator Ben Allen, enjoyed dinner from the Bottle Inn, and beer and wine from Hermosa Beach Brewing Company and Uncorked. ER
