Sangria’s Barry honored for success, service
“Kevin has set an exemplary standard for local business owners with years of active involvement and support for many community organizations,” Butler said during a ceremony at the state Capitol. “I am honored to recognize him as my 53rd Assembly District Small Business Person of the Year.”
Barry has helped raise more than $3 million for local schools, community organizations and nonprofit foundations, including the Hermosa Beach Education Foundation, the Surfrider Foundation, The Jimmy Miller Memorial Foundation and the Dig4Kids Education Foundation.
Barry has served the area as a restaurateur for nearly 30 years. Sangria was established in 1995.
The ceremony was sponsored by the California Small Business Association, a volunteer-driven, nonprofit, non-partisan organization providing small business with “a meaningful voice in state and federal governments.”
Butler’s Assembly district covers the beach cities, El Segundo, Torrance, Lomita, Marina del Rey and portions of Los Angeles.
