Hermosa Beach
Local retailers will take their wares outdoors for the Summer Sidewalk Sale in downtown Hermosa. The al fresco merchandise will be offered at a discount, and local restaurants will also have deals to entice ambling shoppers. Live music in front of Java Man will entertain passersby, courtesy of the Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce and Visitor’s Bureau.
To enhance the experience of a walkable downtown business district, retailers will decorate the stores, and also offer snacks and cool drinks. Several businesses will also have activities for children, and a scavenger hunt provides opportunity to bag gifts and prizes.
Businesses are hoping to capitalize on a slate of other events drawing people to local beaches. The National Volleyball League West Coast Championships, the National Lifeguard and Junior Lifeguard Championships, and city-sponsored film and concert events are also taking place over the same weekend.
“We love the sidewalk festivals, especially the summer version,” said Lori Ford, owner of the Pier Avenue boutique Gum Tree, whose accompanying cafe will feature specials that weekend. “It really brings out the community to check out all that Hermosa has to offer.”
