Students from Hermosa Beach and Loreto, Baja California celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Hermosa Beach Sister City exchange program on Wednesday, July 31, with a traditional barbeque and tug-of-war at Valley Park. Former exchange students are invited to another 50th-anniversary celebration at Loretto Plaza, on Pier Plaza, on Friday, August 2 at 1 p.m. All former exchange students are invited, with a party to follow at a Strand Residence.
