The Hermosa Beach Historical Society hosted its annual holiday season party on Thursday, Dec. 7. The evening included a reading of the true history of Surfing Santa, written by Easy Reader publisher Kevin Cody and read by Museum Vice President Jake Courtney. Guests socialized among the museum’s exhibits, which include Surfing Santa’s original Body Glove wetsuit, Tongva Indian, and early Hermosa political artifacts; surfing and volleyball collections; and a parking exhibit (Friends don’t let friends park in Hermosa, reads one sign). The museum’s many collections include a wide range of Hermosa oral histories available on the Hermosa Beach Museum YouTube channel. The Hermosa Beach Museum is open Wednesday through Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m. For information about the museum, or joining the historical society visit HermosaBeachHistorical Society.org. ER
