Throughout August, local artist Huntley Castner will showcase works in his first show, “Huntley’s Heroes,” at Culture Brewing Company in Manhattan Beach. The subjects of his oversized, abstract portraits are a broad range of renowned personalities from history, politics, music, film/television, and sports. “I paint on wood, preferably reclaimed/weathered plywood because my art is essentially folk art, only with modern-day folk heroes,” Huntley said.
