Retired surfboard shaper Hap Jacob’s legendary 422 Pacific Coast Highway surf shop, in Hermosa Beach, is to become the new office of Paolucci, Salling & Martin Communication Arts, which was previously located in El Segundo.

The 422 address entered surfing history in the mid-60s, when Jacobs named his high performance, narrow tailed noserider after his shop’s Pacific Coast Highway address.

PS&M partner Mark Paolucci said the building’s surfing heritage will be acknowledged with a display of a 422 Jacobs.

In a break from the traditional 8 a.m. to 5 a.m. office, the 2,400 sq. ft. is designed for a hybrid of home and office work, with areas for social events, as well as client meetings and group collaboration. The 30 member, 30-year-old company is employee owned.

The agency’s clients include Torrance Memorial Medical Center, Redondo Beach Tourism. Ocular Science, Beach Cities Health District and the El Segundo Economic Development Corporation.

Clients also include major California home developers, among them Rancho Mission Viejo, ETCO Homes, The New Home Company and California West and Christopher Homers.

The new office is scheduled to open in December. For more information about Paolucci, Salling & Martin visit PSMCommArts.com. ER
