Saturday night’s King Harbor Yacht Club Boat Parade was dedicated to the memory of Dive N’ Surf and Body Glove co-founder Bob Meistrell, who passed away this year. His boat Disappearance made its traditional appearance, with the Meistrell family serving as crew. For the first time in the boat parade’s 22 year history, stand-up paddleboards joined the procession down King Harbor’s main channel. The stand up paddlers were organized by Tarsan SUP’s at it new location in the old boatyard store. This year’s volunteer parade committee included chairperson Joan Smith, fellow King Harbor Yacht Club members Ines Davidson, Paralee Hanson, Norie Martin, Tracey McMartin, April Pitcairn, Julie Coll, Mark Hansen, and Trent Kelly; Port Royal Yacht Club director Craig Allsopp; and Redondo Beach Yacht Club member Patrick Shuss.
