Higher Education for Kids
Kiwanis Club of Rolling Hills Estates’ annual Scholarship Luncheon took place at the Los Verdes Golf Club on June 2nd. Sixteen students and their families gathered with 85 guests in the audience to share their personal goals for a better world. This year’s recipients earned a $1,000 award which focused on students planning to major in STEM programs in college. In addition to earning excellent grades, they have demonstrated special heart by contributing to others while enduring personal challenges. Supervisor Janice Hahn’s office was a Platinum Sponsor and largest contributor having donated $5,000 towards the cause. Kiwanis club of RHE invites interested parties to attend meetings 1st and 3rd Thursdays at El Pollo Inka Restaurant at the Palos Verdes Promenade. Come and join the Kiwanis in their quest to help the underserved in a variety of ways.
