Redondo Beach Police are investigating the death of a man found Friday morning, Feb. 16, in a stairwell at the Pier parking garage. A Public Works employee discovered the unconscious victim at 6:10 a.m.
Paramedics arrived on scene and determined the man had died of an apparent gunshot wound to the head.
RBPD Detectives opened a homicide investigation and are following several leads, according to a release prepared by Lieutenant Michael Martinez. No information on suspects has been given, and there is no known motive for the alleged crime.
The victim is believed to have been homeless. The person’s identity is being withheld, pending confirmation by the L.A. County Coroner.
