Beauty and the Beast canceled due to Covid

A number of confirmed COVID-19 cases among the cast and crew has caused the Mira Costa Drama Department to cancel Thursday and Friday’s productions of Beauty and the Beast.

MBUSD Superitnendent John Bowes sent out a note to parents advising them that anyone who attended last weekend’s shows should also be tested.

“While none of these cases were known at the time of the performances, public health guidelines define the contagious period as beginning 48 hours prior to symptom onset or a positive test,” Bowes wrote. “Thus, if you attended a performance on Friday or Saturday, April 22 or 23, or if you know anyone who was in attendance, we want you to know that everyone in the auditorium is considered to be potentially exposed.” ER
