Book sale
The Manhattan Beach Library will host a books sale Saturday featuring books on art, cooking, history, biography, gardening, decorating, crafts, self-help, science, travel, classic as well as textbooks. Prices start at 50 cents with most only $1. 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Manhattan Beach Library, 1320 Highland Ave., Manhattan Beach. Proceeds pay for the programs at the library offered for all ages. MCHS band concert
The Mira Costa High School Band is performing a “Pops Concert” at 7 p.m. May 31 from 7 to 9 p.m. Attendees are asked to bring a snack for musicians to enjoy — those with the last name beginning A to t can bring cheese and crackers, fruit, cookies, or cupcakes, while those with last names beginning with U to Z can bring beverages.
