A 31-year-old Manhattan Beach resident was killed early Saturday morning in an accident at the intersection of Sepulveda Boulevard and Keats Street, according to Manhattan Beach police.

Amory Borgens was riding her bicycle a little after midnight when she collided with a 2003 Toyota Corolla, driven by Kerry Cliva, 22, of San Pedro, police said. Cliva was driving south on Sepulveda Boulevard at the time. Police, who responded at 12:21 a.m., believe he was driving at a high rate of speed and was under the influence of alcohol.
Borgens was taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital, where she died of her injuries. Cliva was arrested under suspicion of driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter.
Police said the incident is under investigation. ER
