Manhattan Beach church target of bomb threat

Manhattan Beach police are seeking help in locating 11-year-old Risabba Foss.

The Manhattan Beach Police Department released the following statement today:

On April 22, 2015, at approximately 11:08 mbpda.m., Manhattan Beach Police Department responded to First Lutheran Church (1100 N Poinsettia Ave, Manhattan Beach CA 90266) regarding a threatening phone message.  Officers were advised that a church employee, who was checking phone messages, discovered a threatening voice mail message referencing blowing up the church.  The message was left at 8:11 a.m. by an anonymous male subject.  The subject is believed to be the same person, who called the church approximately one month ago and made rambling messages to a church phone message system.

Officers searched the church and school grounds and found no suspicious items, or evidence of criminal activity.  In addition to the ongoing investigation to identify the subject responsible for the phone message, the police department will have an increased presence in the area of the church and school.

Manhattan Beach Police Department fully investigates criminal threats and would like to encourage anyone who may have information regarding the source of the threat, to please call 911.
