After a nearly six-hour dig on Pacific Elementary School’s soccer field Friday, investigators found no further evidence related to the dead body found Thursday night at Polliwog Park in Manhattan Beach.
The Los Angeles County Department’s Coroner’s Special Operations Response Team was on site from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., along with the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department’s K9-unit and Manhattan Beach Police Department personnel, sifting through mounds of fertilizer for the possibility of another discovery.

MBPD detective Mike Rosenberger said the city’s public works staff had transported mounds of fertilizer from Polliwog Park to Pacific Elementary’s field before discovering the body, which was wrapped in pink plastic material and concealed in fertilizer.
The dig found nothing of the sort, he said.
No identification of the body has been made. CBS News, citing the Coroner’s office, said the body was identified as a young Latino man.
The area around Begg Pool will be closed off the next 24 hours as police continue to investigate.
