SWAT officers are preparing to enter a duplex in North Manhattan Beach where police believe gunshots were fired early Saturday morning, according to City News Service.

Manhattan Beach police, with assistance from El Segundo, Redondo and Hermosa, have cordoned off the perimeter around 3309 Bayview Dr. since receiving the call around 4 a.m. Police also evacuated nearby residents.

According to CNS, MBPD Sgt. Paul Ford told reporters at the scene that police are working to obtain a warrant to enter the location but will make entry if “exigent circumstances” arise.

“We still don’t know if someone is inside the residence,” Ford said. “We don’t know if there’s a suspect or a victim or if it’s a suicide and we won’t know until SWAT units make entry into the location.”

Updates to come.
