The Manhattan Beach Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying someone who made three threatening phone calls to Manhattan Beach Studios on Sept. 14.
Police have surveillance video they believe shows the caller.
An unknown man called the studios three times between 8:30 and 9:25 a.m. “expressing a hatred towards America and Americans and stated he was going to blow up the studios,” according to police.
One of the phone calls was placed from a telephone booth in Santa Monica. Detectives obtained surveillance video from a nearby business during the time of the calls. The 48-second video shows a man wearing a pink shirt and black pants while leaning on a phone booth outside what appears to be a Subway. At the end of the video, he hangs up and walks into the store.
Police also have a description of the suspect’s car, which they said was a black 2002-2006 BMW 325i sedan convertible with a black top.
They described the suspect as a “male adult, unknown age, dark skin, 5’9”–6’2, wearing glasses and a watch on his right wrist, a pink short-sleeve Polo-type shirt, black pants, black shoes with pink shoelaces.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Sergeant Paul Ford at 310-802-5123. ER
