One of Mira Costa High School’s four choirs, Vocal Ensemble, performed in Carnegie Hall in New York on March 4. More than 100 students traveled with Choir Director Michael Hayden, Principal Ben Dale and District Superintendent Michael Matthews as the featured solo choir at the National Youth Choir Festival. “As we have witnessed broad cuts in arts education across the U.S., our students have achieved one of the highest honors afforded to any high school choir,” Hayden said, in a statement.
