In 1962, Seymour Bilowit, owner of Seymour’s Jeweler presented an honorary watch to Miss Hermosa Beach after she rode in that year’s Hermosa Beach St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Rosalie Fiorante, who was Miss Hermosa Beach in 1962, and will be 79 this month, will be riding in the Hermosa Beach St. Patrick’s Day Parade once again, on Saturday. And once again, she will be presented with a commemorative watch from Seymour’s Jeweler. Seymour has passed away, but his son Scott, upon learning Fiorante lost the watch his father gave her, has offered to present her with a new commemorative watch.
Fiorante will be riding in a 1999 Mercedes convertible, one of nearly 100 parade entries, which include service clubs, car clubs, bicycle, and motorcycle clubs, marching bands and the world famous Budweiser Hand Cart Team.
The parade is sponsored by the Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce, and is returning after a two year absence caused by the pandemic. The parade starts at 11 a.m. and proceeds down Pier Avenue to Hermosa Avenue, and south on Hermosa Avenue to 8th Street.
