UPDATE: Missing 12-year-old girl found

UPDATE: Manhattan Beach Police announced that Gabrielle Olivas was found safe on July 13.

Gabrielle (“Gabby”) Rose Olivas, 12, of Manhattan Beach, has been reported missing by her family.

Olivas was last seen Sunday, July 12, about 2:30 p.m., when she left her home in the 500 block of 36th Street for a walk. Employees at El Tarasco and Vons in downtown Manhattan Beach have reported seeing her.

Olivas is 5’6”, 100 pounds with curly dark brown hair. She was wearing denim shorts, a black top and grey sweater.

Olivas’s father is former astronaut Danny Olivas. He was featured in a story on the cover of the July 9 Easy Reader.

Manhattan Beach Police are asking parents to talk with their children about the possibility that they know where Olivas is. Police said that there was no indication of foul play at this time.
