Missing man found in Westwood

A 68-year-old Gardena man who went missing on May 20 in Manhattan Beach was found early this morning.

Bertram Robert Northrop, who suffers from schizophrenia, was wandering near the UCLA campus. Campus police notified the Manhattan Beach Police Department around 1 a.m.

“Bertram is currently under the care of the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Westwood, CA,” said Manhattan Beach Police in a press release.

The police were searching for Northrop after he was reported missing eight days ago. He was last seen at the restaurant Izaka-Ya in downtown Manhattan Beach.
