The Hermosa Beach music community gathered at the Hermosa Music Company to celebrate the 17th Annual Rock for Tots Charity Concert. The gathering took place last Saturday, Dec. 10 in the heart of Hermosa’s Industrial/Arts District.

Toys collected at the concert were donated to Beach Cities Toy drive.

Schockboxx Gallery, next door to Hermosa Music Company opened its doors to the overflow crowd.

Rock for Tots founder Jeremy Buck and Hermosa Music Company’s Kevin Sousa, co-hosted and performed.

“It’s a labor of love and for some reason every year I change it,” Buck said. “It used to be a simple show at the Lighthouse. Then we moved it to the city tree lighting on Pier Plaza. Then the Covid lockdown gave us the idea of a livestream, which reached a lot more people.  This year we’re doing both a live show and livestream. It is really awesome to bring together so many creative minds that are right here in the South Bay.

“We have Russ Gilbert, and his technical livestream abilities, the HMC’s crew (Steve Aguilar and Zeal Levin mixing sound), and my wife (Caroline Buck), she makes the world go round.

“We made HMC for these things, “ Sousa said. “Community events, supporting local charities, we’re really excited to host this. It’s lot’s of great music, lots of great people.”

Project Barley provided brews, and a taco truck served street tacos.

Chamber president Jessica Accamando worked the door with Franco Ayala from sponsor Sky One Federal Credit Union.
