The National Volleyball League will host the ROX West Coast Championships this week in its hometown of Hermosa Beach with players vying for a $50,000 prize pool on the courts north of the pier.
Qualifying rounds will begin Friday with the 32-team Main Draw competition being held Saturday and Sunday. Action begins at 9 a.m. each day. The women’s final is slated for 2:30 p.m. Sunday followed by the men’s championship match at 4 p.m.
“We are extremely excited to host the NVL’s West Coast Championship event here in our hometown Hermosa Beach,” NVL CEO Albert Hannemann said. “It’s nice to be home and to be able to bring the first professional tournament of the year back to the California Coast for the fans and the players.”

The Canadian men’s team of Andrew Hinchey/Ryan Vanderburg and the women’s team of Megan Wallin/Chara Harris look to win their second straight NVL tournament after claiming titles at the Midwest Championships in Mason, Ohio.
The Hermosa Beach West Coast Championship will be the 3rd stop for the National Volleyball League this year. The NVL will conclude its season with a “Best of the Beach” competition in Las Vegas, NV in September.
