Metro representatives will hold another on-site meeting Wednesday, May 11, for the proposed Green Line light rail extension through Redondo Beach.

The one-hour walk begins at 2:30 p.m. at the corner of Ruxton Lane and Rockefeller Lane.

Metro representatives will follow the walk with small-group sessions at neighboring Breakwater Village.

A previous on-site meeting April 11 at 182nd Street drew an estimated 60 people.

Metro is in the process of studying two route options for the extension through Redondo, Torrance and Lawndale. One choice is to lay tracks along Inglewood Avenue from Manhattan Beach Boulevard to 190th Street on a Metro-owned right of way, which has existing tracks for full-size trains.

The other possibility is to build a raised platform along the median of Hawthorne Boulevard.

A Draft Environmental Impact Report for each option is expected this fall for public comment.ER
