A man was arrested Sunday night after allegedly firing a gun during a fight in downtown Hermosa Beach.
Witnesses told police that the incident began with an argument between four people on the street and two men in a white BMW near the intersection of 10th Street and Hermosa Avenue, said Sgt. Robert Higgins of the Hermosa Beach Police Department. A fight between the two groups ensued.
At some point in the confrontation, the driver of the BMW fired a single shot, according to a statement from the city. It was not immediately clear whether the bullet hit anything, but no injuries were reported.
The two occupants of the BMW fled south on Hermosa Avenue, and were arrested in the parking lot of Blue Water Grill, just over the Redondo Beach border, about 9 p.m., according to the statement. Inside the car, police found a stolen, loaded gun and additional ammunition.
Police arrested the alleged driver Michael Manshoory, a 30-year-old Los Angeles-resident, on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, carrying a loaded firearm concealed in a vehicle, and shooting at an inhabited dwelling, according to the statement. Manshoory was released early Monday morning on a $250,000 bond.
The other alleged occupant of the car, Peter Von Sass-Aliev, a 25-year-old Los Angeles-resident, was arrested but released pending further investigation, according to the statement.
