Pacific Coast Highway at Torrance Boulevard in Redondo Beach was closed for nearly 24 hours, following a fatal accident at about 2:50 p.m. on Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving. A car traveling west on Torrance Boulevard ran a red light at Pacific Coast Highway and collided with traffic heading north and south. Six cars were damaged and eight people taken to a nearby hospital, including one person who died, according to Redondo Beach police public information officer Lieutenant Mario Fizulich. ER
