This Black History Month, Paycom, a leading provider of comprehensive, cloud-based human capital management software, has donated $50,000 to the future National Juneteenth Museum in Fort Worth, Texas’s Historic Southside neighborhood through its employee giving program and company donation match.
The National Juneteenth Museum will serve as an information hub and travel destination for preserving history, raising awareness and ensuring future generations understand this pivotal moment in American history.
The 50,000-square-foot facility will feature:
- 10,000 square feet of immersive exhibit galleries
- A 250-seat theater for lectures from renowned experts, performances and more
- A business incubator to support emerging businesses and co-working space for local entrepreneurs
- Space for traveling exhibits, seminars, corporate and community events
- A food hall featuring local chefs and vendors
- A National Juneteenth Plaza, greenspace and public courtyard
Juneteenth, observed on June 19, commemorates the enforcement of emancipation and the liberation of the last enslaved people in the U.S. It marks the day in 1865 when enslaved Texans learned of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
Tiffany McGowen, senior executive vice president of HR and talent acquisition at Paycom, said, “This donation reflects Paycom’s dedication to contributing to a more inclusive society. We’re proud to support the National Juneteenth Museum in the development of an institution that will educate generations on the history and significance of Juneteenth.
Paycom and its employees also contributed to the museum in 2023, which supported the organization’s ongoing development efforts.
“Paycom’s generosity is a testament to the spirit of their organization and the dedication of their employees,” said Jarred Howard, CEO of the National Juneteenth Museum. “We’re grateful for their support and are thrilled to continue our partnership.”
Paycom’s employee giving program supports a multitude of local and national causes, including youth programming, mental health treatment and programs for individuals living with disabilities. Paycom selects a wide range of nonprofits every year, allowing employees to donate to an organization that aligns with their values.
