Pet oxygen masks donated, Dog Park boardmember honored

Friends of the Redondo Beach Dog Park donated eight animal/pet oxygen masks Tuesday to the city for use by the fire department in emergency situations.

“There is occasion that we need to give animals oxygen,” said Patrick Butler, interim Redondo Beach Fire Chief.

The department also has agreements with local veterinarians to transport pets in an emergency, such as if an animal is injured in a house fire.

In addition, Mayor Pro-Tem Todd Loewenstein Tuesday night presented a plaque and framed letter from President Biden honoring Dog Park boardmember Judy Robelotto, for her 5,000 volunteer hours helping to maintain the park on Wednesday mornings.
