Spitting on officer

A man was arrested early Wednesday morning after allegedly spitting on a police officer.

Officers were called to the 500 block of Pier Avenue, between Valley Drive and Bard Street, shortly after midnight. They found a male suspect and, at some point during the encounter, the man allegedly spit at one of the officers, according to police reports.

The man was arrested and booked on suspicion of battery on a police officer.

 

Counterfeit money found

Officers found two counterfeit $20 bills in the pockets of a suspect during a vehicle stop Friday night.

Police pulled over a car near the intersection of 35th Street and Hermosa Ave. about 11 p.m., according to police reports. After running the names of the car’s occupants through a police database, the officers learned that one of the passengers was on parole for robbery.

Officers searched the parolee and confiscated the money.

 

Guitar taken

A man’s guitar was stolen Friday evening.

He had his guitar with him while in the 1100 block of Pacific Coast Highway, near Aviation Boulevard, according to reports. At some point, the man let the guitar out of his sight, and an unknown suspect or suspects took the instrument and fled.

The victim insists did not give anyone permission to take the guitar, and is desirous of prosecution. ER
