Catalytic converter theft
According to Manhattan Beach Police Department reports, unknown suspect(s) stole the catalytic converter from a vehicle that was parked on the 1200 block of Manhattan Beach Boulevard some time between 9 p.m. on Aug. 23 and 6:30 a.m. on Aug. 24.
Skateboard vandalism
A group of juveniles used a skateboard to strike a resident’s vehicle and garage on the 900 block of Manhattan Beach Boulevard on Aug. 24 at 7:45 p.m., according to police reports. The juveniles were located by responding officers and arrested.
Stolen change
According to MBPD, unknown suspect(s) entered a vehicle parked on the 1800 block of Highland Avenue and stole change from the center console between Aug. 17 and 19. Â No sign of forced entry was found on the vehicle and the victim stated the vehicle was locked and secured prior to and after the theft. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
Stolen jewelry
On Aug. 18, unknown suspect(s) stole jewelry from the master bedroom of a residence on the 2000 block of The Strand, police said. The victim had multiple construction workers inside the master bedroom throughout the day and it is likely a construction worker stole the jewelry while working.
Stolen bikes
Two bicycles were stolen from inside an open detached garage on the 500 block of 20th Place between Aug. 18 and 20. Â Â Â Â
Attempted laundry burglary
An unknown suspect entered the shared laundry room of a building on the 1000 block of North Highland Avenue on Aug. 6 at 6:50 a.m. and used a blowtorch in an attempt to steal the change in the coin-operated washing machine, according to reports. The suspect was unable to break into the washing machine and left without having stolen any money.
Locked bike stolen
Between 2 to 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 25, an unknown suspect stole a bicycle that was secured to a parking meter with a bicycle lock on the 1100 block of Ocean Drive.
Fraudulent purchases
According to police reports, unknown suspect(s) stole the victim’s credit card from an envelope on the second story porch of a house on the 100 block of 2nd Street and made several fraudulent purchases with it on Aug. 25 between 11:25 a.m. and 1:40 p.m.
Side view mirrors
Police report that unknown suspect(s) stole the side view mirrors from a GMC Suburban on the 2500 block of Ocean Drive between 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 21 and 8 a.m. on Aug. 22.
Vehicle Tampering
According to MBPD reports, unknown suspect(s) stole the battery from a locked vehicle that was parked in the lower parking lot on the 2600 block of Ocean Drive between 7 p.m. on Aug. 25 and 6:45 a.m. on Aug. 26.
Vehicle vandalism
An unknown suspect scratched both bumpers of a victim’s vehicle on the 2800 block of Bell Avenue between 1 to 3:45 p.m. on Aug. 17. ER
