Police Beat in Manhattan Beach

Marine drug arrest

Manhattan Beach police officers were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle parked on the 1500 block of Marine Avenue at 1:30 a.m. on Sept. 15. Upon making contact with the driver, the officers found meth, heroin, needles and fraudulent credit cards. The driver was arrested.

Boat leak

On Sept. 16 at 1:30 p.m., unknown suspect(s) broke a door of a parked boat on the 2200 block of Manzanita. Nothing appeared to be missing.

Cars ransacked

Unknown suspect(s) ransacked and stole items from an unlocked car on the 1800 block of Wendy Way between 6 and 6:30 a.m. on Sept. 22. Four other nearby residents reported

that their cars had been ransacked and robbed.

Stolen side mirror

A Cadillac Escalade driver’s side mirror was stolen between the evening of Sept. 22 and the morning of Sept. 23 on the 1000 block of Herrin Street.

Touching but not taking

Unknown suspect(s) rummaged through a locked vehicle on the 1700 block of 23rd Street some time between 8 p.m. on Sept. 21 and 7 a.m. on Sept. 22 but don’t appear to have taken anything. There were no signs of forced entry.

Target arrests

Officers initiated a traffic stop on the 1200 block of Sepulveda Boulevard at 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 17. Upon investigation, they found stolen property from Target and fraudulent $100 bills. Both the driver and the passenger were arrested.

Loaded gun

A driver was arrested for possession of a loaded gun after a traffic stop on the 600 block of Highland Avenue at 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 18. The car had been reported stolen.     

Bike theft
Unknown suspect(s) stole a bike that had been locked to a bike rack on the 4000 block of Highland Avenue between 10 and 10:45 a.m. on Sept. 23. The victim returned to find the lock cut and a cutting tool on the ground.

Meth pipe
On Sept. 23 at 1:30 a.m., officers initiated a traffic stop on the 4200 block of Highland Avenue. The driver was arrested for possession of a meth pipe. ER
