Power outage takes out light at major intersection

Traffic was backed up at the intersection of Manhattan Beach Boulevard and Sepulveda Boulevard for about three hours Monday morning after the light stopped working.The power outage was caused by the “extreme weather,” according to Manhattan Beach Police Community Affairs Officer Stephanie Martin.Police sent a Nixle alert at 6:54 a.m. saying that the traffic light was flashing red in all directionsand warning people to avoid the area.
