Election Day on March 5

Redondo Beach’s all mail-in-ballot election concludes on March 5, but voters have a variety of ways to make sure their ballot is counted beyond dropping it into the nearest postal box.

Voters may drop their sealed-and-signed ballot envelope at the Redondo Beach Public Library’s Main Branch, 3030 N. Pacific Coast Highway, at the official dropbox atop the checkout counter during regular library hours from Feb. 4 to March 5.

On March 5, additional dropoff locations will be set up at Alta Vista Park Community Center, 715 Julia Street; Dominguez Park, 302 Flagler Lane; Redondo Beach Public Library’s North Branch, 2000 Artesia Blvd.; and Anderson Park Senior Center, 3007 Vail Ave. For more information or questions, visit redondo.org or email cityclerk@redondo.org.

Pop-up art show at Garage 77

“Automotive paparazzi” Anne Williams will have a pop-up art show for her locally-focused @street_parking_hermosa Instagram account at not-quite-car-club Garage 77, 320 N. Pacific Coast Highway, on March 2, from 4 to 7 p.m.

The show is a marriage of Garage 77’s classic car sensibilities with Williams’ passion for unique cars basking in the Southern California sun.

Garage 77, Williams notes in an Instagram post, is a “#NotDouchey” car and social club that offers its members the opportunity to drive a rotating selection of 10 vintage cars, as well as passage to their clubhouse, which features a bar, pinball machines and a music room.

“You gotta see it to believe it. No strings attached. Just come,” Williams wrote.

Art along the Esplanade

The Friends of Redondo Beach Arts will hold its first Plein Air Painting event on Saturday, March 9 at 10 a.m. along the Redondo Beach Esplanade to support Keep the Esplanade Beautiful, a community organization dedicated to cleaning up after litter and waste along Redondo’s ocean-front roadway.

That day, South Bay artists will focus on memorializing the beauty of the Esplanade. Their works of art will be featured at the “Keep the Esplanade Beautiful” silent auction to be held at the Annual Community Mixer and Fundraiser on April 17 at HT Grill.
