Project Title: General Plan Housing Element Update
Notice is hereby given that the City of Redondo Beach as lead agency for compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), intends to adopt Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) No. 2013-12-MND-002, which has been prepared for the project pursuant the Redondo Beach Municipal Code, and the Guidelines to the Implementation of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
Project Location: City-wide
Project Description: The project consists of updates to the Housing Element of the Redondo Beach General Plan. Consistent with State-law, the Housing Element will sets forth goals, objective and policies to guide future residential development and ensure the provision of housing opportunities for all current and future residents.
Findings/Determination: The City has reviewed and considered the proposed project and has determined that the project will not have a significant effect on the environment after implementation of mitigation measures, this conclusion is supported with substantial evidence in the Initial Environmental Study. The City hereby proposes to adopt a Mitigated Negative Declaration for this project.
Public Review Period and Written Comments: In compliance with the CEQA GuidelinesSection 15105 (b) and the City’s Municipal Code, the public review period for the proposed Mitigated Negative Declaration begins on January 2, 2014 and ends on January 23, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. When submitting comments, please include the name of a contact person in your agency or organization. Comments regarding the environmental analysisfor the proposed project may be submitted by mail, e-mail or fax to the address below:

Public Hearing:The City Council of the City of Redondo Beach is scheduled to hold a public hearing on the projectand the adoption/certification of aMitigated Negative Declaration on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as possible, in the CityCouncil Chambers, 415 Diamond Street, Redondo Beach CA, 90277.The City Council’s procedures generally include opening the public hearing, a presentation by staff, and a question and comment period open to the public.
