AES Power Plant community participation

While the Redondo Beach City Council is not a part in the decision making concerning the AES application, the Council has decided to be a formal participant in the State licensing process by seeking to become an “intervenor.” To find out more about community participation, visit www.redondo.org

 

Habitat Restoration

Join the LA Conservation Corps and SeaLAB on Saturday at Esplanade and Vista Del Mar at 10 a.m. for a day of beach bluffs habitat restoration. Visit http://¬www.¬lacorps.¬org/¬sealab.¬php for more information.

 

July 4th city services

There will be no street sweeping or ticketing on July 4. The regular schedule will resume on July 5. Refuse and recycling collection will be delayed one day starting July 4 for the rest of the week.

Beach fireworks

The Seaside Lagoon will host a Community Celebration on July 4th starting at 2 p.m. There will be food and full beverage service, a 56-foot inflatable obstacle course, arts and crafts, live music, the 6th Annual Freedom Parade, and free paddleboarding. Fireworks synced to patriotic music from Jack FM 93.1 will begin at 9 p.m. Visit http://www.redondofireworks.com/ for more information and to reserve a seat.

 

Refuse rate increase

Single family residential refuse rates will increase from $14.04 to $14.25 per month beginning in July. The most common commercial customer rate will increase from $81.32 to $82.75 per month and the most common multi-family unit rate would be adjusted from $78 to $79.12 per month. Galleria expansion

Two new restaurants, Stone Oven and Chickenow recently opened at the South Bay Galleria. The stores PANDORA, Sunsations Luggage and Sunglasses and H&M also recently opened their doors in the shopping center. “We are excited to offer these five new stores and restaurants to our guests.
