Police are looking for anybody who may have witnessed an armed robbery or its aftermath at a Redondo Beach antique store last Friday afternoon.
The robbery occurred at about 3:15 p.m. at Vicki’s Antiques and Fine Art, a store located on the 1200 block of S. Pacific Coast Highway in Redondo Beach. According to police reports, two Hispanic men believed to be in their late 30s or early 40s entered the store, one brandishing a revolver. The shopkeeper was taken to a backroom and bound with duct tape and watched by one of the men while the other ramsacked the business.
“They stole fairly large quantity of jewelry with a relatively high value from the business,” said Lt. Joe Hoffman, the head of the Redondo Beach Police Department’s detective bureau.
Hoffman said police were able to process the scene for evidence and are actively working on identifying the suspects. But he said that police are hoping witnesses come forward to assist in the investigation.
“If anybody saw or witnessed anything relating to this crime, even if they’ve already talked to police, we would like to have them contact RBPD,” Hoffman said. “We have some information that maybe some witnesses were not originally documented in the police report that might be able to help us with this investigation.”
