Redondo Union (15-6-4) finished third in the Bay League and eliminated host J.W. 2-0 behind a strong defense.
Michael O’Neill gave the Sea Hawks a 1-0 lead in the 74th minute and Justin Leavitt sealed the victory with a goal in extra time.
Redondo goalkeeper Griffin Thomas recorded six saves for the shutout.
Redondo will host No. 4 Servite in a 5 p.m. Â second-round game on Tuesday.
After posting a 3-1 wild-card victory at Buena, Mira Costa (12-11-7) had its season come to an end with a 2-0 loss at No. 3 San Clemente (22-2-1).
Bay League champion Palos Verdes (19-5-3) is seeded seventh and defeated visiting Capistrano Valley (3-2 in the first round. The Sea Kings host No. Dos Pueblos (16-3-3) on Tuesday.
West Torrance (12-9-1) edged Jordan 2-1 and will travel to take on unbeaten and top-ranked Loyola (23-0-6) in the second round.
In Division 4, Pioneer champion Lawndale (20-7-1) is seeded eighth and beat visiting Ganesha 4-1 Â and will travel to No. 9 Hart (14-5-3) on Tuesday. Â Fifth seeded Hawthorne (18-2-3) eliminated West Ranch 5-1 and hosts Chino (22-4).
South Torrance (10-8-3) lost at Santa Monica 2-1 and Torrance (12-11) fell to No. 10 Santa Paula 2-1. Bishop Montgomery (6-11-1) lost its wild-card game at West Ranch 2-1 on Tuesday.
Chadwick (8-3-4) earned the tenth seed in Division 6 and eliminated Dunn 2-1. The Dolphins host No. 3 San Gorgonio (14-7-4) in the second round.
Vistamar (13-5-1) in ranked No. 7 in Division 7 and defeated visiting St. Michael’s Prep 4-1 in Thursday’s first-round action. The El Segundo-based team will host Milken Community (12-5-4) on Tuesday.
