Palos Verdes Estates resident and Rolling Hills High School graduate Stephanie Cartozian has been named publisher of Peninsula magazine (formerly Peninsula People). Cartozian succeeds Mary Jane Schoenheider, who co-founded the magazine 20 years ago.

Cartozian graduated from UC Santa Barbara in 1989 and then spent eight years in banking. She served as manager of Union Bank’s downtown Los Angeles commercial office and as vice president of City National Bank’s Los Angeles Miracle Mile office.

Cartozian went on to found Health Odyssey, an alcoholic beverage company, which she sold and then co-founded Holtorf Medical Group, a Torrance company that specializes in the treatment of endocrine deficiencies.

She is the executive director of the Point Fermin Historical Society and is also active with the Banning Museum, Redondo Elks Club and the Salvation Army.

Cartozian said she plans to build on the the magazine’s community focus, established by Schoenheider, by expanding the magazine’s coverage of the Peninsula’s many different social and ethnic groups. ER
