Incumbent Ellen Rosenberg has captured nearly 31 percent of the 5,630 absentee votes counted after the polls closed Tuesday at 8 p.m. in the race for a seat the Manhattan Beach Unified School Board, according to the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder’s website.
Candidate Jennifer Cochran is behind Rosenberg with 26 percent of the mail-in votes. Christine Cronin-Hurst is currently third with 23 percent, and Kathleen Paralusz has claimed 20 percent of the votes.
The four candidates are vying for one of three seats on the school board.
The first ballot count includes the returned Vote-by-Mail ballots issued in Manhattan Beach. Updates will come throughout the night as ballots are tabulated by the County Registrar’s Office.
