E-waste fundraiser for schools
An e-waste fundraising event will be held on Saturday, December 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Hermosa Valley School parking lot at 1645 Valley Drive. Proceeds from this event will go to support the Grades of Green environmental programs at Hermosa View and Valley Schools. All Green Recycling will collect the e-waste and all items will be disposed of safely. The schools will benefit most from the collection of televisions, computers, monitors and laptops but anything that plugs into a wall will be accepted. Sand snowman contest
The annual sand snowman contest will be held Saturday, Dec. 8 from 9 a.m. to noon. Check-in begins at 8:45 a.m. north of the pier. All ages are invited to participate. For more information, phone the city’s Community Development Department at (310) 318-0280.
